About Me

Growing up, I was always fascinated with movies and television. Not just in a usual sit-on-butt pretty-flashing-pictures capacity(although sometimes I did do that), but a real fascination for the characters that were created and the way their stories were told. When I watched the "making-of" of The Matrix and saw the people who worked tirelessly behind the scene, I knew I wanted to work in the film industry. When I watched Finding Nemo in 2003 and Dory's heartfelt plea to Marlin at the end brought tears to my eyes, I knew I wanted to be an animator.

Unfortunately growing up in Iowa didn't allow me a lot of opportunities to pursue that kind of a career, so I ended up taking as many computer classes as possible in the hope that I would eventually find my way to computer animation. What I found was an interest in programming and in 2008, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Studio Art.

During my Junior year at the University, I began working as a web designer and programmer, but quickly realized I had not quite given up on my dream of becoming an animator. So in the September of 2008, I began attending Vancouver Film School. In 2009, I graduated from VFS with my first short film, Rain Crowds. Rain Crowds has been chosen to be a part of the Tiburon International Film Festival.
